company that started as a guard and will earn $ 400 million

Goodstorage, a company that started as a goalkeeper in 2013, should earn about $ 400 million this year. The information was passed by the company’s founder and CEO, Thiago Cordeiro, in an interview with the program From zero to toppresented by Mariana Amaro. The strategy to get there is as much focus on self storage and expanding offer to companies.

Cordeiro began his career in the financial market “out of necessity and also prestige”, after he saw his entrepreneurial father break at the time of the Collor plan in the early 1990s. “My youth talked a lot with scarcity,” he recalled.

Amid this context, he stressed that he was reasoning that “he could not fail.” With this, he dedicated himself professionally and considers that he was lucky to have passed companies with “meritocratic culture”. After the success acquired, however, with the basic needs already met, a restlessness came to take care: the purpose led him to undertake.

A tese do self storage

Cordeiro says he confronted the vision of “lack of cultural adherence” to Self Storage in Brazil: At the time, he said: “I think a professional platform, with brand positioning, focused on user experience. This quality offer will arouse demand.” His view ended up working.

In 2013, he left the bank in which he worked and spent time seeking real estate in São Paulo until he signed the first options. “On December 17, 2013 the first contribution was made.” According to him, two investors entered: “an American pension fund and HSI” with $ 75 million each.
