Understanding Dynamic Viscosity

Dynamic viscosity (μ or η), also known as absolute viscosity, is a measure of a fluid's internal resistance to flow. It is the tangential force per unit area required to move one horizontal plane with respect to another plane at a unit velocity when maintaining a unit distance separation between the two planes.

The SI unit for dynamic viscosity is the Pascal-second (Pa·s), which is equivalent to Newton-second per square meter (N·s/m²) or kilogram per meter-second (kg/(m·s)).
